Great Special Ed Preschool Program, very nice teachers that focus well on students.
My son has gone k-5 at Northeast. We consider ourselves fortunate. The majority of staff are very dedicated to the students. There has been a push toward WASL in the last two years which distracts from what I have always considered to be basics, like history, science and cursive handwriting. This comes more from District wide policy than a school level problem, but does leave teachers and parents frustrated. My son is a high level reader and the only problem came in 3rd grade where the staff probably lacks the most. There is alot of focus on low level kids to prepare, again, for the WASL. It took 6 months to get him in an advanced reading group which was disappointing. If he was a low level reader he would have had one-on-one help within a couple of weeks at the most. Overall, we had a good experience though.
