The principal has absolutely no idea how to deal with children with special needs, and has been the bane of our family's existence since day one of Kindergarten. We finally got a plan for my child and he broke it 3 times in the first week of school. He has been non-communicative and borderline belligerent. Also, the first grade teacher was horrid with children outside of the "norm". When I asked what she could offer my gifted child for enhancement, she crossed her arms, made a horrid face, and said, "Can't you help your child at home???" This was the least offensive of my interactions with her. I actually had to go higher up in the ladder of hierarchy to get any assistance at all. Kindergarten and 2nd grade teachers have been great, which is the only reason this gets 2 stars.
This is our third year at Crescent Heights with two of our children currently enrolled. We have a third child who will attend in the fall of 2011. I can easily give this school 5 stars. The teachers that our children have had are wonderful. There is great communication between teacher to student as well as teacher to parent. As parents we are involved in the school and find it a privilege to be involved. The principal has high expectations of the students and holds them to it and we appreciate that from the staff as well. CHE has been a great place for our children to learn. They excel in their work and that is thanks to the teachers who care about our children succeeding. We have yet to have a negative experience at CHE. 5 star school, for sure!
We are so happy at this school. We have 2 kids there now and after 2 years I can say that not only are the teachers wonderful and involved, the amount my kids are learning far surpasses what they were doing in their previous (very high tax bracket) school! The staff is friendly, the principal is involved and helpful, and we just LOVE that there is a uniform policy. Our questions and concerns have always been met with the utmost attention and I find that this public school is better than most private schools I attended growing up - in every way. 5 stars.
I give this school five stars. My daughter loves the school and they really care about the students. I like the uniform policy and they way they have the parents become involved with the teachers and students. Great school
We love this school. The teachers are great, the principal is wonderful, and the office staff is friendly and helpful. We love the all day kindergarten and the fact the kids wear uniforms.
Poor leadership, VERY cliquey, Snobby Elite attitudes, bullying by staff & school peers, which goes ignored. Hard on special needs kids. Academics & scores are nothing special. Would NOT recommend!
Worth every penny of the hight property taxes in NE Tac - the staff is excellent. Uniform policy is great and parent involvement in the class is encouraged and embraced. Which is fantastic. It's not the sole responsibilities of the teachers, learning needs to woven in with parenting. Too bad not all parents get that...
This is a great school. The teacher is very helpful and the parents involvement is excellent. My daughter loves her 1 through 5 grade teachers.
This is a great school and I love the fact that the kids wear uniforms.
This is an excellent school. The uniform policy adopted by the parents helps the kids focus on education, not fashion. This school has very high parent involvement which is vital to the success of our students. Teachers are top-notch. The stats speak for themselves - this school has consistently beat the average scores in all areas.
