I have no problems getting my 4th grade daughter up for school everyday. That says a lot! She has attended another school in the past, but she has settled in nicely, enjoying the students and teachers at Wilsonburg.

Wilsonburg Elementary School is in a rural area of Harrison County. It is surrounded by woodlands and beautiful hills. It has a five-acre tract upon which the school is situated. The parents are very active in the school providing incentives to help the children to better citizens. They contribute to the Leap Into Reading Program, the Reading Is Fundamental Program, Fall, Winter, and Spring Parties, and they help with assemblies and graduation. The Wilsonburg Lions Club built a pavilion and picnic tables for outside learning and for families to have birthday parties and/celebrations. We have three foster grandparents who help in our school. One is very agile and interactive with the students. One is battling Altzeimers but contributes by cutting, making copies, and working in the food service area and library. One has had a stroke which has caused paralysis, but he helps by disinfecting the Phys. Ed. equipment and tearing out workbook pages. They have become a part of our school family who are loved and appreciated by the students and the teachers. Our school emphasizes the importance of an education and respect for others. Being a small school of 250 students, we are the center of our rural community.
