The band at the school is phenomenal, and it is made possible by the band teacher Mrs. Kade. She teaches students how to take criticism and to be responsible, how working hard for something over a long period of time can achieve greatness. The academics at this school are questionable however. If you're serious about college you HAVE to take the hardest classes you can find. The regular classes are a joke and the atmosphere is horrible in them, the teachers and the students don't care (I've taken 1 or 2 reg. classes). If you take the honor/ap classes you will be challenged, but if you do take these classes you have to put a decent amount of time at home away from school to succeed. It prepares you for real life, no one is going to hold your hand there.

It is not true that students from PSHS are unprepared. My daughter graduated 2 years ago and has the highest GPA in one of the best college nursing programs on the east coast. She took honors and AP classes in high school and was very well prepared. If you slack in high school, then you play catch up in college. That is true regardless of which high school you go to. No one is going to hand it to you.

This school is bellow average in academics and bellow average in mental preperation for the real world. Students from pshs usually struggle in their continued education.

I just what to say that Mrs.Kade is doing an excellent job with the band. When I heard the band at the All City Concert I was just stund that one woman could do such a wonderful job with a big band. So keep up the good work

I am one of the few African American students at this school, and I enjoyed myself until I tried to do some majority White extracurricular activities, and was turned down. The school isn't extremely racist, but it has its tendencies. If you are sending your child to this school MAKE SURE to put them in honors classes because the students are so unattentive, it is ridiculous. It's a block schedule school and I advise that you not send your child to this school if they've been on regular schedule for a long time. I'm from the city and West Virginia is very rural. The school seems to be the life of 13-20 year old daily activity. The vocational school is available and seems to be very enjoyable and as a sophomore I enjoyed the tour that they provided for us.

My daughter is a sophomore and loves it here. It has one of the best high school sports facilities I've ever seen. Many colleges don't even come close to haing a football field as nice as Princeton High's.

The kid who wrote about what a terrible school this is is wrong! Probably one of those bitter little Gothic children. Unfortunatly they are everywhere. My daughter is a sophmore at Princeton and doing great. All A's and all honor classes. She is also in the band that just won GRAND CHAMPION at Marshall Univ. over 34 bands in 4 states! We went to every football game and the home games were packed! When we would go to away games Princeton often had more fans that the opposing home team! Princeton is a good school. Not too big, not too small. You get out what you put in too your childs education no matter where you live. Kids can do well anywhere, and kids can do poorly in the best schools. It's all about Attitude!

This school isn't as bad as the other people in this review say, they have security guards for safety, they are a blue ribbon school, and almost all the students are in some type of sport. Also they have many clubs to pick from, this make it easy to make friends. I say as far as the schools around here this is one of the best.

This is the worst school. It has the least school spirit and some of the worst athletic teams and grades. People have no interest whatsoever in seeing their football games. That is how much everyone hates this school. iIt's truly amazing how few parents and citizens care about the school's activities.
