My child is of mixed ancestry, has a typical American name, and looks like a typical American child. However as soon as staff noticed that our family wasn't completely white, things changed. Now my child has been singled out, sitting on the other side of the room away from the rest the class. Of course the staff says its because of behavior issues. although I pickup my child every day from school and see all children doing the very same things he gets in trouble for, swinging around, running, chasing and playing with other kids, only difference is, he gets sent to the deans office while the others just get to be kids.. To the best of my knowledge, Heritage Elelmentary has a 100% Caucasian teaching staff...Makes me wonder what "Heritage" they are promoting

excellent school ! Love the Principal and the staff. Both my kids go here. Love the reading programs and attention given to individual kids based on their progress.

Both of my kids attended Heritge and I am very satisfied with the entire experience. The only issue is the liaison officer who (Mr Gladwell) who thinks he is more important than he really is. Otherwise an excellent school.

My child absolutely loves this school. The principal is wonderful and so are the teachers. My child is not white and has not encountered the problems that the previous poster has stated. Granted it's not very diverse, but my child has never been called names or excluded. Miss Wilmot does an awesome job with the TAG program. My only complaint is the craziness at drop-off and pick-up times and that is mainly the parents' fault by not following the rules put in place.

My child has had problems with continuously being picked on. The teachers seem to take the attitude that it will take care of itself. I do not feel they are handling the issues of the bullies very well.

I just wanted to say that my daughter attended Heritage for the first time last year and they were wonderful! The programs offered were great and the teachers were so helpful it was amazing. Love this school, no complaints what-so-ever.

This is a very close minded community. When racism issues come up the School faculty does not have the time to deal with it. It is shrugged of as 'kids will be kids'. If you are thinking about moving to Depere and your children are not white, I strongly suggest that you think again. My children have been called the 'N' word and have continously been harrassed and hit and punched. Lamers Bus service is no better. They have made no effort to correct the issues on the bus, they have gone so far as to single out my children and even write them up for standing up on the bus. Yet the children that abuse my kids will not get written up. I am now moving and transfering my children to Appleton. There schools are great. Alot of diversity and racism is never an issue!
