Southport has great teachers and staff who provide a safe, supportive environment. Families are very involved, through volunteering and bringing kids to social events.
Everyone that makes up our school makes it a great school
My son is entering 5th grade at Southport after starting there in the 2nd grade. Every Teacher he's had is exemplary, the OHI/Spec Ed Support Teacher's are phenomenal and the Principal deeply invested in children & their parents. The Spec Ed Teachers are incredibly receptive and flexible & intelligent in working with our son, meeting our needs and seeking our input as parents to best learn about our son and help him thrive educationally and emotionally. Mr. Miller, the Principal, is a tremendous Administrator. Whenever I've had any concern and brought it to him, I received respectful, thoughtful and immediate resolution from him and his staff. He personifies a great educator, protector, facilitator & gentleman. You & your children are truly blessed if you live in the Southport Elementary District.
