As a parent and a teacher, I find Central High School an excellent place to receive an excellent education as well as develop life long skills.

Central is an excellent High School. I choose to send our boys to Central after spending thousands of dollars for their 9 years of Catholic school education. Central offered a diverse population, challenging curriculum and excellent sports opportunities, especially the football program. Here it does not matter whose child you are, all that matters is the effort your child is willing to make. Here your child has the same opportunities to be successful as every other child. Central High School is second to none and head and shoulders above the Coulee Catholic School system. Parents, save your money and send your children to La Crosse Public schools, you will not be disappointed.

Central High Schol is a wonderful school. This school offers many choices for all types of students. Central offers many honnors and AP courses to students, while also offering team taught programs. The foreign language department at central is exceptional, as it offers not only spanish and french, but german and chinese. The athletics are great, and there are at least 20 clubs, so there are many ways students can stay involved at Central. The music program is excellent, with an awesome show choir and band. All three principles at Central are phenominal, and they truly show how much they care about each and every student. The teachers are excellent. There are only a of couple teachers that I would not reccomend. As you can see Central has a lot to offer. It's a great school for all students.

Most of the teachers are great, but there are a few I wouldn't choose for my kids. The sports are very competitive, and winning is stressed more than team spirit in some. Coach Benrud is the greatest and really cares about the kids! Not my recommendation for basketball or football if you want the kids to focus on team spirit and enjoy playing. If you want a focus on winning at any cost, then go for it. Rules are tough and kids must obey or pay a high price. There is a police officer assigned to the high school, so that helps a lot with keeping order. Academics are certainly one of the best around in WI, although I still have my doubts about some of the teachers.... Parent involvement is ok, seen better and worse. Lots of good music programs and other activities for kids....

Central has a dedicated teaching staff which strives, above-and-beyond the call of duty, to involve students in all dimensions of the educational experience. Teachers are accessible by phone or in-person for discussions about parent or student concerns. The administrators work long hours and are seen at all the events sponsored by the school. It's not hard to find the Principal or anyone else on the staff. I am most impressed with how teachers care about the kids.
