I am out of high school but this was a great school. I would highly recommend having your kids go to this one. High School could have had better communication in the Special Education with regular Ed teachers like Science, Math, and English in terms of being on the same page with one another. But great atmosphere.

The previous review is outdated. The new school is excellent. Teachers are great and care about the kids.

Spooner High School needs improvement in all areas. The community would greatly benefit if facilities were updated, especially the science and arts. Some teachers are good, some are just 'putting in there time' until retirement and could afford to be much more creative in the classroom. I don't see much for the different learning styles--teachers still want to teach the same way they did 20+ years ago and research shows that doesn't work for a lot of kids. The discipline program of demerits needs revamping. It's too much emphasis on the negative and not enough encouragement and motivation to do better. I feel they have enough extra-curricular activities, and a wonderful drama department, but unfortunately they do not have an auditorium that would greatly improve the quality of the plays. Budget cuts have caused increases in fees, which are getting outrageous. Overall I give the high school a rating of C-.
