Profile Completeness

Want to improve this school’s profile? You can!

All schools on GreatSchools begin with BASIC completeness, which includes important information like contact details and test scores. It’s up to the school community to take the next steps. As a parent or community member, you can share what you know with other families by writing a review or answering a few questions about what the school offers. As a school leader, you can upload photos, describe school programs, and more with an Official school profile.

The completeness meter moves to INTERMEDIATE, then ADVANCED, and finally HONOR ROLL as you complete the following: 10 or more reviews, at least 1 photo, and 9 program questions parents find helpful.

It pains me to say this, but if you care about your kids, DO NOT send your kids to this school. At least not until there is a change in school administration that takes bullying of it's students, by fellow students, seriously. Oh and don't be afraid to take a look how test scores, of say it's 6th graders, rack up against the rest of the country. Is it a coincidence that the ineffectual 6th grade teacher is married to the ineffectual principal? The same one that won't stand up to bullying? I will leave that to you to decide. It's really a shame that the only Catholic school in Cheyenne is this pathetic. I'm sure people will come to the school's defense in response to this post.. They're the ones whose kids don't get picked on and hear nothing but false promises from the clown that currently holds the title "principal." Do your kids a favor and just stay away. Stay far away.

This is the best K-8 school in Cheyenne. Top teachers, high standardized test scores and there's a high level of parental involvement. The building is new, high-tech facility and kids have assigned laptops. We're from the east coast and find this school is a good fit for our family. No need to be Catholic, the kids are all exposed to religious instruction despite religious affiliation. We love this school and the high quality of education and discipline they offer over public school.

Prior to this year this school had dedicated teaching staff that cared for and made sure this school was a viable alternative to the even poorer public level schools. However, there were multiple teachers who left for higher paying positions or were hired and not qualified to remain in their assigned positions. The bottom line here is that the highly valued St. Mary's reputation no longer exists...grade scores have plunged....parents are walking away with their students and their funding! Buyer beware.....go anywhere else and protect your children from this crisis-management nightmare! Investigate thoroughly before signing a contract here and submitting your child to this hit & miss school!

Two of our children have been at St. Mary's now for 5+ years and we love it! Great Catholic culture, top notch academics, and first class state of the art facilities. Highly recommend!

I love how well behaved and polite most of the students are at St Mary's. The kids are given high expectations and they strive to get them.

St. Mary's is an excellent physical plant staffed with conscientious, talented lay teachers. They have an impressive instructional program that is 'soup to nuts', that is, comprehensive in every category from religious education & sacramental preparation to the '3R's'! Children are challenged daily, appropriate to age and subject matter. With Dr. Ricken's departure as the founding principal, they've taken a big hit but I have no doubt that St. Mary's will continue to produce the academic, civic, political and community leaders they've graduated since their founding more than a century ago.

Lack of planning is horrible, no principal involvement and teacher interaction and discipline stink. The kids are not challenged in any way. The school should be shut down. Divorce is the only reason my kids suffer there

This is a wonderful school. My chils has attened for PK4 and K and was reading after the frist month in K! It helps that there are only 12 students in her class so she gets lots of attention from her teacher. We plan to attend until 8th grade.

The school is very well run & with a new school coming in 2008 is looking to get better in the next few years. The school is active in science fair & has a 100% rate of acceptance into East High School's superb advanced placement IB program
