The quality of academic programs are minimal, but quite sufficeint. There are options to take college credit classes which is appealing. Extracurricular activities are non existent here, but the student has the option to attend extracurricular programs at LHS. A motivated student can learn a lot at Whiting. Students who do well at Whiting are given individual attention, and are helped beyond that coming from the average school. There's a family atmosphere at whiting. The principal and staff are truly concerned about the students and want them to succeed. It is a perfect fit for some, while other students may be frustrated from the lack of acadmeic vigor in fellow students. At the same time it serves as a great place to get ahead, instructors steadily build on the students foundation of knowledge and facillitate their propensity to learn. I attended whiting and have done excellent ever since.A great place!
