I was greatly disappointed to learn that this formerly great school with serious and highly trained teachers has now opted for the corporate "teaching out of a box" technique opposed to the prior studied method of carefully looking at individual chidlren to determine their next steps. It will not end well if districts force teachers to give up their professionalism in favor of so-called "fidelity to a program"--the fidelity should always be TO THE CHILD!!! Mountain View...Don't lose what you did best...teach kids to read and write.
Academically #4 has accomplished teachers and staff who work hard with the students in the class. Unfortunately, the outcome motivated philosophy creates circumstances where some students slip through the cracks. From my experience either the staff or the board simply do not care that students can miss 20% of the school.
