WJSHS is a great school. My kids love it and like their teachers. I have always felt welcome there and feel they are doing a great job educating my children. I have heard that years ago things were different, but I have no complaints.
I think this school needs to stop playing favorites. There is definately the small town B.S. that you expect from kids going on, but the staff is worse than the kids. In my opinion the school does just enough to meet policy instead of doing what is best for the kids. There are a few very good teachers, but for the majority it is just a job and they are not going to go out of their way to help a student unless the student is needed for sports or the family is well known and/or liked. I couldn't even get them to do an IEP for my ADHD child that struggled all year. Only 2 or 3 staff filled out questions sent by my child's Dr. to help figure out what meds were needed. My child was almost a straight A student before attending this school.
