San Juan Unified

Know your school choice options in the San Juan Unified School District.

In the San Juan Unified School District (SJUSD), students can attend their neighborhood school or one of the designated open enrollment schools, as long as there is space; open enrollment runs through the end of January. They can also attend charter schools. Alternative schools are available for at-risk students. Elementary, middle and high school students can participate in gifted education programs. The district also provides special education services.

Under the federal No Child Left Behind law, students attending a Title I school designated as "in need of improvement" have the right to attend a higher-performing school in the district.
