Fulton Science Academy is the second best middle school you can go to. I would defineetlry recommend this place
I am a former student at Fulton Science Academy. After attending FSA for the past 3 years i have noted that it is one of the best schools anyone could ever go to. Not only do we have bragging rights for being the 2nd best middle school in the state (kidding) but we also have amazing teachers and a great curriculum. I'm also very happy that last year we began using iPads for textbooks, note-taking, and other academic tools. For anyone looking for a school with strict discipline, this is definitely the school for you. Discipline is taken very seriously at FSA, which i am very grateful for. I would highly recommend FSA to anyone interested in elementary or middle school.
I strongly recommend this school to everyone. You will never know how great this school is till you send your child. I have two children and we have been extremely happy so far. Great teachers!
This school certainly deserve a 10 out of 10. Very strong academics, amazing teachers and a safe environment for my children. We love FSA!
VERY POORLY. The teacher are rigid, have cold personality and are UNable to provide the creativity, innovation needed for dynamic reading and writing.
Smaller class size, better focus without Fulton County's time consuming paperwork, and fresh start with great staff motivation ! I congratulate FSA parents students and staff for their persistence on the best education in Atlanta.
'Coach', you believe parents evaluate a child's school based on an impressive name? As parent of 3 who attended FSA, I can agree wholeheartedly w/ good reviews. Kids learn SO much from the excellent free extracurricular programs (Sci Olympiad - 23 different subjects, Odyssey of the Mind, Model United Nations, Math competitions, Tech Fair, even Chess team, many more) grow in creativity, International awareness, working in diverse population...things important in today's world. Communication w/ teachers- easy and welcomed; went out of their way to work w/ my brilliant but more 'challenging' child. Only 2 of my 3 have taken SAT: both had exceedingly high score, due in part to excellent training by FSA to participate, work hard, be proud of achieving. Two of my kids were on high school lacrosse teams. That has value, but I must say I believe teamwork at FSA academic teams to be more valuable and relevant for working in tomorrow's world. FSA contributed much to my high achievers. I suggest that you, Coach, should review the FSA website & you will see that this school is about so much more that a "name"!
I have had experience with many schools in Florida and in Georgia. I moved to Atlanta for FSA. I did not regret. My intelligent, but different child, did great in FSA. He academically excelled. His standardized test scores were perfect. He was finally happy and comfortable with a school. Finally, a school appriciated his intelligents and creativity and nurtured that. I am sorry for what happened to our school this year. Politics will not stop me. Private or public, my children will go to FSA. Thank you Mr. Sener for being the most caring Principal and Mr. Conrad for being very supportive and patient with our children.
High quality private school education at public school price - FREE!!! Academics is great - they consistently rank on top of all standardized tests in the state. The atmosphere is very friendly, the teachers, the kids are great - it is like one big happy family.
After a horrible Middle School experience with our first child, we sought out FSA Middle for our second. The run down building and the predominant Turkish administration was definitely something that surprised us on the tour, but after our previous experience we had to try it. We felt so welcomed and the atmosphere was so very different. It was obvious that the teachers there just loved their jobs and that was a priority for us especially with what we witnessed in the zoned school. They motivate, are kind and are compassionate. They work creatively so that ALL children can learn and this is where the performance numbers are their testimony! In this school, academics not only come first, but it is 'cool' to have good grades and the children are motivated in the most simplest of ways. The parents are ENCOURAGED to provide feedback and not shooed away like little pesky flies. And, if we have a concern, we can ask ANY ONE - no escalations needed. (ex. last week I had to escalate to a principal of our zoned high school for a simple schedule change that the teacher, the counselor, and the VP could not handle). This would have never happened. I highly recommend this school.
We've had 2 kids at this school for the last 5 years. We've been very happy there. We love the uniforms as there's not so much brand-envy. The administration is attentive and kid-focused. It is tough academically. There are not a lot of the distractions we see at other middle schools around cliques and dress and sports. Great school!
Amazing school where my child is thriving and happy! We are so thankful to have this school nearby!
Middle school can be a scary place for both students and parents but FSA recognizes and handles each child's needs very well. Faculty and staff are welcoming and warm yet lay down the expectations up front which helps kids know their boundaries from day 1. Uniforms are worn and checked daily. Academics are delivered well..smartboards and decent technology in all classrooms. Could benefit more from better facilities, ventilation, location.
My son graduated from FSA a few years ago. From his first day in high school, the teachers commented on how the FSA kids were so much more prepared and organized than the kids from the typical middle schools. FSA is a great environment for an age group with many social issues. The school is probably the most integrated school in the state, with kids from dozens of countries and cultures, all from families who take education seriously. They manage pubescent kids will skill! We still refer to the kids that went from FSA to our high school as "the FSA kids", since they've stuck together and all done well. I see a comment about Mr. Sener, and suggest that seems to be sour grapes, since there are no facts given to back up the accusations. Based on my experience, FSA is run by a great set of administrators who are consistently fair.
My son is a 6th grader at FSA and he loves it. The uniforms are not that bad and teachers are super nice. It completely prepars you for high school. Overall an awesome school.
I have had 2 kids attend FSA, both for all 3 years of MS. This is a great school for the right child, but not nec. the best school for every child. There is no perfect school, and there have been mediocre teachers at FSA just as at any school, but the teachers, students and parentsare uniformly oriented toward striving for top academic achievement. This is a school where it is cool to be smart! The small size makes it intimate and personal. Many of the Science/Math teachers are Turkish - most of which are good, and virtually all of which are pleasant and represent their country well, esp. the men as wonderful role models for boys The school has a very diverse student body and little of the girl cattiness found at most middle schools. On the down side, children with learning/behavior issues may not get the support they need.
Fulton Science Academy maintains very high expectations for all students to perform at their highest level both academically and behaviorally. It is an excellent school where all achievements are recognized and 'doing your best' is always encouraged.
They have a strong technical core, driven mainly by the excellent team of teachers from Turkey. However, there is not much attention given to the social studies and language art; some of the teachers are inconsistent (or inexperienced) in delivering the courses or messages to the students - result is inconsistent grades. If you do something well, you do it well and vice-versa. If you get A and then F, A and F - something is wrong in the message that teacher is sending out.
I graduated from FSA almost a year ago. I cannot begin to understate how much the school has done for me. Yeah I'd often joke with my friends about how it is a 'nerd school' or the 'wierdness' of the teachers, but up until I went to High School I had no idea how much I was challenged at the school. Kids are pushed to their academic and disciplinary extremes. The size of the school really brought most kids closer together than an average middle school. I would recommend it to anybody. Mo
Fulton Science academy is one of the best middle schools out there. After graduating from there last year, I can't find a kid that I go to high school with that had a better middle school experience than I did. The teachers all want to help their kids succeed, and they are all friendly. This school gets a 5 out of 5 from me. -Bradley Thompson
