Cornell seems to have turned a corner with new leadership and better results with a difficult student population. I look forward to continued growth and success for this unique one building, one library school that educates K-12 students.

The teachers at this school are of a younger generation who have new ideas of how to get the kids back into their education. This school is also great because of small classrooms. Cornell has come a long way and it's still working to better itself.

Cornell is undergoing a comprehensive transformation. State assessments have increased dramatically because of a quality change program initiated 4 years ago. Cornell is a very small district, which is proving bigger is not better. They have developed a strategic plan that is addressing continued improvement in the future. Academics have been the priority for the last four years but plans include expanding emphasis on arts, and athletics. School board, faculty, and administration are forward thinking and very resourceful.

This school is not very good. the average SAT score is under 1000. their is little availability of advanced programs for students to learn. the sports programs are not good and not sopprted by the town. their is a good amount of teachers per student but it does not matter because they are always disciplining other students. the school is trying to improve but i would not count on it. The parent involvement is limited to a few who have too much influence.

There are holes in the 'Zero Tolerance' policy at this school. Principal, teachers and disciplinarian single out certain students, while other students who do cause problems get away with a lot. The principal's policy is 'if I didn't see it, it didn't happen'. As a parent of a child who has been singled out and verbally threatened by the principal, I am outraged and will do whatever it takes to call attention to these unfair practice.
