The students at this school are respectful and friendly toward adults. The staff is extremely supportive to substitute teachers. There is a wonderful sense of community among students, staff and parents. The dedication of educators is top-notch. Students are excited to learn! A day at Sheridan Road is always a good day for me!
Sheridan is a great school, my sons teacher Mrs. Rios is a phenomenal asset to the Lansing School district! You know how every child is different and the majority of times no matter what level a child is on there is only a singular teaching structure. But not with Mrs. Rios, she teaches each child on a individual basis, based on there level of comprehension..... I've seen the results in my son who most would say is on a higher level of intelagence than most fellow kinders his reading, and math skills are that of a 3rd grading level..... So if you have a child in this age group I highly recomend Katie Rios for the job! The one down fall of the school is the parking!
Mrs Garza, 5th grade teacher there, uis the best teacher in the world! I would recomend her any day for any fifth gradeer's parents.
I made the decision to pull my kids out of this school because my childrens needs were not being met. The new principal of Sheridan Road School wouldn't listen to what the parents felt were in the best interest of the children. I also have seen the principal being rude to the children and parents at Sheridan Road School.
I just recently made the decision to remove my child from Sheridon Road School. I feel that this school did not meet my childs needs. She is a first grader and reads at a third grade level. I do not believe the academic programs are suited for every child. There is a great need for a better gifted and talented program. The availability of art, music, etc. was great. The level of parent involvement is good there are parents always there to help when needed. My child was only there for K-1st grade her teachers were great. My son was there 4th&5th. I was not impressed with the teachers for the higher grades!
