What the parent complaining about her daughter's cell phone failed to mention that it is a district policy that cell phones are not allowed on campus. The school allows students to check in their phones each morning and they are kept safe all day until the student picks it up in the afternoon. What medical condition would require a student to need a phone on them all day? Students are able to go to the office and make check out requests or call home when needed. This is a great school. The rest of the other parent's rate is just as unfounded and absurd as the bit about the cell phone.

This school is absolutely horrid. My daughter has never been a bad child, and her first few months here she gets suspended. My daughter has a medical issue which she has her phone for, they in fact said it is not their fault for my daughter's problem and they cannot help her. The assistant principal is rude, and locked her in the room with him by herself. They show favoritism and children roam the halls for no reason they laugh and play. No school has ever made me hate the staff more than this one. The secretaries are mean and joke and are never doing their jobs.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Louisiana used the integrated Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (iLEAP) to assess students in grades 3, 5, 6, and 7 in math, English language arts, science, and social studies. The iLEAP is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana.

In preparation for new assessments in 2014-15, Louisiana is including more common core aligned content in LEAP and iLEAP tests in 2012-13 and in 2013-14. The percent of students earning a proficient score is expected to be lower as a result of this change.

About the tests

In 2012-2013 Louisiana used the End-Of-Course (EOC) tests to test grade high school students in English 2, English 3, biology 1, algebra 1 and geometry. The EOC is a standards-based test, which means it measures specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Louisiana. The EOC is a high school graduation requirement. The goal is for all students to score at or above basic on the test.
