Ventana Vista is a well-resourced school that looks nice on the surface. There are some highly dedicated teachers. But the school has serious issues with behaviour of students. Discipline matrixes aren't followed, and many students feel unsafe at the school. If the school actually worked to address these issues instead of ignoring them, the school could be so much better. As it is, our family was forced to leave the school mid semester.

Our experience at this school has not been positive. The principal seems to not be invested in this institution. This is evident in many ways. For one, the building is poorly organized and I doubt much has changed in the last 15 years since she has owned this school. The other day, my kid almost tripped on the many delivery boxes stacked up near the entrance. There seems to be high attrition rate for teachers. Two music teachers have been changed this year and now the current teacher is teaching guitar instead of piano which the kids have been learning for years. The principal also behaves in an unprofessional manner. She sent out a newsletter to all grades trying to talk parents of fourth and fifth graders out of changing schools. In it, she lists several schools as being low ranked. Funny enough, she included Eastside Prep as a low ranked school even though it's the third best school in state of Washington. This is a poor reflection of her to make other schools look bad instead of improving her own institution which isn't even on the list of well ranked schools. The teachers aren't invested in students. Without parental involvement, I doubt kids would stay afloat. There is no science lab, no art lab, no library other than the makeshift children's library at the entrance which is mostly for display and no gymnasium. I would highly recommend against sending your kids here. There are far better options on the eastside.

This school has been absolutely amazing. They do so much to help the students and if you need anything they are right there for you. They really care and it shows. When our daughter transferred from a school that wasn’t doing well, they did not everything they could to get her caught up and then some. She loves school and is an amazing student trying her best now. The only things I would change is making class sizes a bit smaller (which they probably can’t help) and wishing the middle and high school were better (which they def can’t help lol)

this school is a little bit bad because you can be defending your friends and you would get suspend for doing that and it would not be fair because of it

I have two students that attend: Theater and Media Arts. The school encourages the students to be their authentic selves. In addition to the arts, academics are on par with top schools in the state as evidenced by acceptance to top colleges and universities across the country.

I am a current student at this school and I cant stress how bad this school is. you will never learn anything. My teacher recently got fired and i had a b+. forced another teacher on us and my grade is now a 45%(with all As by the way) all my efforts put into that class and in these years just to go to college is now gone. I now don't have any motivation to even show up, and talking to the counselors, principles, and assistant principles is a waste of time. they act like they care but just give us things that we wanna hear to get rid of us.

We moved my son to Hope Lutheran after he suffered through a year of online learning during the pandemic. He was not in a good state. Being isolated was highly stressful for him. I was worried about him. His best friend had moved to Hope. I knew from him that his their grade's class was not full to capacity and he would probably get more teacher attention (there is 1 class per grade). After 3 years, it's not only like the pandemic experience never happened -- he is doing better than before the pandemic. I am SO happy we took a chance on this private school. We had not budgeted for such a move, but the value for the money is outstanding. The student-teacher ratio is something you will never get at public school. My son is seen, heard, known, and loved. I personally care about that more than academics, but their academics are excellent as well. Most of the teachers seem to have master's degrees as well as tons of experience. They radiate joy, warmth, purpose, and sincerity. There are no burnouts here. On the last day of 5th grade, may son was about to get in my car but went back and told his teacher Ms. Robertson, "You're the nicest teacher I have ever had!" I think I shed a tear. I am a big believer in small schools. Whatever opportunities may be missed are more than made up for in the environment of increased adult contact and friendship that is made possible. That is what I am paying for and it is well worth it. I know non-religious families may hesitate to place their child in a religious school. We are not a religious family and most of the families there aren't religious. They have a class called Faith and they have chapel once a week. They learn about other religions too. I believe this rounds out his education wonderfully and gives him an enhanced perspective on the world, and on history. Middle School: They have just purchased and remodeled the old Seattle Lutheran High School building, and middle school will move there starting the 2024-2025 school year. This is a fantastic opportunity to place your child in an excellent facility with all the same benefits of the small school environment. I only wish Hope offered high school as well!

My daughter went to Cinnabar for 7th and 8th grade, and it showed in high school. She is socially and academically behind in compared to students from other junior high schools. Cinnabar does not do a good job getting students prepared to do well in a bigger setting, and often it shows at the high school level. I wish I would have sent my daughter to a bigger junior high school.

We switched our kids before Spring Break. Best move We could have made for our kids. They feel welcome. They made friends quick. The staff has gone above and beyond! We really can't say enough about the school. Our girls went from begging not to have to go to school everyday, to being upset they have a weekend away from school. With the change in school came attitude changes at home. They also implement fun things that my girls didn't get to do at other school that they love to do here. Thank you guys for all that you have done for our kids.

My kids 4th year in ASE, they love it. is a great school, with successful, well-educated, professional teachers, a STEAM-based school. The school offers many opportunities for my kids (Soccer, Volleyball, Basketball, E-sport, Robotics many more clubs, tutoring, dual credit, etc. ASE is such a Safe & Secure place. Amazing Administration and District staff are always responsible.
