I have two daughters in school here. We started Evergreen last year and were very pleased. The teachers and staff were very helpful in whatever way needed. We are back again this year and I hope it will be another great school year.

I recently relocated to the ocala area in the beginning of 2006 and evergreen elementary sure does have some issues, but the issues that are current seem to be no-parent cooperation issues! I feel safe with now both of my children at this school and will continue to put forth effort to help this school better it's 'reputation'. Proud parent of 2 at evergreen: melissa

I have two boys that attend Evergreen. Up until this year I have been pleased with the performance. This year the drop off of my child and the pick up has become a little stressful (which due to security issues is somewhat understandable). I do believe that through the frustrated looks on the teachers face and the continuous discipline problems that I witness and hear about through my children that there is an athority issue. My child is continuosly coming home with stories of being kicked and hit and when I approach the teacher with the problem I hear, 'I know we always have a problem with that student.' What I don't understand is why there are letters sent home about bullying and nothing is followed through with. If the administration is going to threaten they should follow through otherwise it is wasted paper and energy.

I could not have asked for a better school for my daughters first 2 years or the best kindergarden teacher Mrs Bush!

Three years ago, when both of my children started at Evergreen, I was quite pleased. The faculty seemed willing to relate any problems my children were having, and I felt welcome any time at the school. This year a lot of things have changed. Parents are no longer welcome in the classrooms in the mornings, I need an ID to pick up my kids, although almost everyone whom works there knows me, and now we all have to wait in a line of cars that stretches out to the road to pick up our kids at the end of the day. We used to be able to park, and walk to where the kids wait to be picked up. Also, there are 200 new students in our school as some charter schools were closed. My husband and I are now researching private schools for next year.

My daughter went 2 years here - Kindergarten and first before I took her out. The kindergarten program was excellent but in first grade we were not happy at all with the behavior of fellow students and how the staff handled it. The teacher felt she only had to go to computer lab when she felt like it instead of every week like the other classes.
