Summit Academy-Akron Middle School

Summit Academy is a school for AD/HD children as well as children with Aspergers. The teachers here at Summit Academy really relate to our children. It isn't about letting them get away with things a regular public school would, it is about showing them how to cope with their disability and teaching them ways to enhance their abilities instead of continually harping on their negative abilities. My son has become excited about school. This is something we haven't seen since the second day of 1st. He is learning social skills and martial arts which are an integral part of learning; focusing, fitting in, self control, self esteem. Enhancing and educating our children on these traits alone will result in better school scores! I am thankful for Summit Academy and the dedication the staff and administration put forth in my son's WHOLE day - not just the learning to tests!

Summit Academy has provided my child with a quality education. It took a few months to bring her up from where the public school setting had let her fall behind. She now preforms above grade level, has higher self esteem and feels like she fits in! The martial arts program is wonderful. It's taught her self control and responsibility. Cub scout program for all! Social skills education on top of a quality education! This school does it all!
