"Shocking!!!!!" a 5 completely unacceptable. Staff there have an imperious belief that they are superior to the community and the children they serve which transcends into the teaching faculty and resultss into this horrendous score for a school touted to be one of the best in OKC.

This school is great if you have a child with discipline problems but for those who don't your child will get lost in the mess and then have to flip cards just to make trouble. Kids who want to learn get lost and it is up to the parent to keep them on track. Teacher's are to busy with disciplining to teach kids.

I taught at WVA for 4 years and loved it! The staff was very supportive of each other and teamwork was key! Western Village continues to improve in every area. They have made great strides to provide the best educational experience for their students. Small class sizes with the help of paraprofessionals is just one of the benefits at WVA.

Although Western Village is a charter school (which allows them to accept students from anywhere in Oklahoma City) they only except students from the surrounding neighborhood in open enrollment. Other students can enroll later if there are any openings. However, if your child is accepted into the school from outside the neighborhood they will not be allowed to stay in the school through the 5th grade. They constantly talk about how important it is to keep your child in the same school yet they are contributing to the problem by making out of neighborhood kids reapply every year. When Oklahoma City Public Schools grant a transfer it is for the duration of time the child will attend that school (through 5th for elementary, 6-8 for middle school, etc). Western Village does not adhere to this same policy which hurts both the student and the school (in terms of test scores, etc.)
