Really, if I could give this school zero stars I would. My children began attending Imagine when they first opened in 2009. Like the review below, we were promised awesome things like the Smart Lab, access to real time video of our kids in class, and connection via video with other Imagine schools in the country. None of this ever happened. They do have a Smart Lab, but the kids are not allowed to do anything on the computers in there except play games on coolmath.com. The "teacher" that they keep in the smart lab is a former office assistant that is in no way qualified to teach anyone. I don't think she has even been to any sort of college. We recently moved out of town and my kids now attend a public school in a small community. My first grader was getting straight A's in Imagine. However, at this school she is behind to the point that the kindergarteners are more advanced. She has to retake first grade. I am so dissapointed in myself for ever allowing my kids to stay in Imagine for three years; I hope they can recover from their academic losses as a result.

This will be my last year for my children to attend Imagine East. When they were opening the school the said all the wonderful benefits of attending here. Smartboards, virtual communication with other Imagine schools across the country, and the smart lab, none of which has occurred. I don't have all negative things to say about Imagine East, the really helped one of my children in reading, my child started at a 3rd grade reading level while being a 5th grader because of other teachers telling me she's fine she will catch up, which he never did, to being on grade level now. My other child is advance and the next grade level I don't truly feel that the options for teachers will hold my child's attention. I love the teacher my child has this year and I would recommend him to anyone but you will have to put up with a lot of last minute notifications, disorganization, and constant rule changing from the administration.

My daughter has attended for 3 years and we have had constant problems with transportation and administration. I have been pleased with her teachers and chose to overlook things but when her NWEA scores actually went down, we decided it was no longer worth it to put up with the hassles. Some of the problems we've experienced: they lost her 4 times her first year and twice her second by either putting her on the wrong bus, failing to put her on a bus at all, or mistakenly taking her to the after care (which we've NEVER been signed up for); losing lunch money payments - this has happened 3 times so now I go in to pay it in person so I can get a receipt which I invariably have to show them 3 days later; being sent a letter threatening a call to CPS for truancy when, in fact, my daughter was extremely ill and doctor's notes had been provided to the school - her total missed days for the school year were less than 10; and most recently, discontinuing her bus stop without notifying us. I was also unhappy with PTO participation. There are only 5 parents, including me, that participate and no teachers. It's pathetic. Oh yeah, and a failing percentage of students passing the ISTEP.
