everything and one on one help with the kids and have different learning acts for the kids
This school is HORRIFIC! RUN if you are considering this school. Like many have commented here, the staff is incompetent and it does start at the top with the principal. There is absolutely no learning going on in this school. My daughter s science teacher refused to conduct class more than half the year because of the "bad" kids, therefore students sat out on the hallway for that period every day. The first time I walked into the school, students were literally running wild and so I thought the school was dismissing early so I asked one of the staff if it was early dismissal and she just told me flat out "no, that's just the way it is here everyday, students run around like clowns". This school needs to be looked into. Of course a lot of the parents are to be blamed because good behavior starts in the home. So many strange things happen in this school, I wish I was allowed enough space in this post to explain further. I just wonder how the teachers come up with grades since there is barely any work going on. If you think this school is remotely a good place, wow, your standards couldn t be lower. (My daughter attended this school three years ago).
This school has changed since last year. It is horrible. The Vice Principal, Mr. Cristy is ignorant and arrogant. The students run all over the desk in the cafeteria. The older children run all over the younger children. The teacher's have no classroom managment skills. I am in the process of trying to get my children transferred immediately. My 3rd grade son used to love school; this year Edmunds has turned him off from school. The school has also turned me off from public school period. Someone needs to take a good look into this school.
This school is atrocious. The principal, the faculty i've had experience with - need to be out of the job. It's hard to find people more incapable of running a school.
My children were just transferred to Edmunds this year. The teachers are effective and have great plans for the children. The school staff has good spirit and their effort shows. I've heard negative comments about the school, but I belive the school is great. What disappointed me was how some parents give teachers such a hard time. In one day, I've seen three parents yelling at the teachers for unnecessary reasons. Parents need to be more involved with their children instead of leaving the bulk of the responsibility on the teachers.
I am a teacher at Edmunds. The new administration has really turned the school around for the better. The school is safe and kids are learning.
I have two children in the school. I worry every day about my younger son because the kids run wild in the school, the teachers take the first graders outside after school and leave them by there selves out side. Most of the teachers dont care about the students. I feel bad for the teachers who care and the students who want to learn.
This school is horrible and it starts at the top with the principle. The school is disorganized the older children run wildly through out the school pulling fire alarms and knocking down the smaller children
This School is Horrible my child has been picked on and even struck by the students. Also, my child dislikes going to school because they learn very little.'My teacher has to stop teaching all the time to attend to childrens bad behaver' said my child coming from school. I would not ever reccomend this to anyone.
The staff is what makes this school what it is. There are a small number of parents who are truely involved, but the staff makes up for it! If students are without supplies, the teachers and aides give it to them. I commend the teachers of H.R. Edmunds. I have seen many changes over the years and each year I have seen improvement!
This school has really done down hill fast. My kids used to go to this school 3 years ago before I took them out to got to a private Christian school. The school was pretty good then, it had it's issues like any other school. Recently (3 years later) we put them back in to save money for a new house. They were there for 3-1/2 months before I had to take them out because the kids were so bad. My daughter had approximately 3 teachers that left during the 3 months she was there in 6th grade. It was horrible and they didn't learn much if anything. They will never step foot in that school again.
The School is a work in progress. The staff works with the children and despite the changes in administration, I would say that it is progressing along.
My daughter transfered from another school into Edmunds for the second grade near the end of the school year. I was pleased at the warm reception she recieved from not only the teacher but all the students. The classroom was bright and cheerfull with plenty of displays on the walls. The school overall was clean and well kept. As for security, there were always security personnel in the yard at all the entries. My Husband and I always had to sign in to gain access. There were crossing guards at all the major corners surrounding the school. I feel confident that my child is confortable at this school and she will be returning for the third grade. Also my daughter did not feel the need to dress a cretain way to fit in. All the children in the lower grades were wearing uniforms.
My 8 yr old son attended this school last year. It was a terrible experience for him only because most of the kids in the 3rd grade were into cliques and just into the wrong things. In order for him to fit in he would have to dress a certain way, act a certain and speak a certain way for kids to accept him. I attended every meeting and party at the school and analyzed the kids and teachers. My son was in a class with 33 kids to 1 teacher with no help. One day during breakfast time my son forgot his bookbag so my husband walked in to the lunchroom and no one stopped him at the door to ask for id or anything, he was walking around looking for our son. When I would enter the building through the front door, most of the time no one was there to id me or have me sign in. I have never felt comfortable having my son attend this school because it is overcrowded and he was not getting the proper help and attention when needed. Nor do i feel the school has good a safety policy. The pamphlets you get from the school state a couple of rules and regulations but were not enforced.
