My son started at Sage Vista mid-year and it has been a terrific experience for him. We have been homeschooling for 4 years and have looked at many schools during that time to see if we could find one that could offer him more than we could give him through our own personalized mix of classes and independent study. We didn't find one until Sage Vista. SVS has offered him a nice blend of structure and consistency with flexibility, project-based, in-depth exploration of topics, and a strong staff of excellent and supportive teachers. He enjoys his classmates and looks forward to going to school every day. My younger one will be starting at SVS in the Kinder class next fall. We look forward to many more years in this wonderful learning community!
I've been searching for a school to call home where the teachers are valued, curriculum is integrated, learning is thematic and purposeful, and the structure of the school is organized, but flexible. Sage Vista is just this! Many schools talk about catering to the "whole child," but rarely meet all the needs of the students. By incorporating social-emotional learning into the everyday curriculum, students are not only academically challenged, but intrinsically motivated to learn. If you are looking for a place where your child feels their questions are valued and where they can be a part of creating their classroom learning, then Sage Vista School is just the place!
This school challenges students academically but in the right way, by emphasizing critical thinking, practical application of knowledge and experimentation. It's not about test scores, as most of these kids will be able to pass any test. It's about nurturing the love of learning. When you add formal focus on the social / emotional development, you have the perfect place for a bright child who loves to learn. I am so happy we found Sage Vista; thank you to AnaMaria Guevara and her staff for bringing this approach to the South Bay. The teachers are great, the parents involved and the adminstrative staff professional and competent. It's well worth every penny.
The students are blossoming. The ceramic program this semester allows the students to be confident in their creativity.
I believe that Sage Vista school provides the right environment for any student to excel regardless of their learning style. Our teachers are facilitators of learning and they are creating an environment where the acquisition of knowledge is meaningful to each student. In this way, Sage Vista is providing an alternative solution and I would like to invite you to see what that alternative can look like. Our mission is to fill our school with bright and gifted students and will not suit everyone. Our next open house is on Tuesday February 21st at 5.30pm-7pm.
This is a school with smart leadership in place and devoted teachers. Teachers and board members worked alongside all summer to create this special school from painting the classrooms to preparing a unique curriculum that truly addresses strong academics and emotional intelligence. The academic leadership has developed tools such as student learning profiles to help differentiate instruction. The school emphasizes staff development and is careful to hire teachers who understand and embody its mission and philosophy.
SVS is a must see for any parent who understands and values the critical importance of strong academics and protecting a child's natural curiosity and love of learning. We saw 8-10 other private schools in the area and were disappointed. We would have probably home schooled if we had not found SVS. My son is gifted and can easily be turned off by worksheets and the push for test scores. At Sage Vista, the learning is meaningful. He will not go to bed without talking about his day at school. We feel so lucky to be part of the handful of fouding families.
