Wesley Prep

We had a horrible experience at this school. The teachers are highly variable so one year may be great and the next may be terrible. There are several new teachers who are wading their way through learning to teach so that is troublesome. The punishment is very heavy handed at all grade levels and there seems to be a culture of making small kids feel badly and not listening to the reasoning behind their actions. Subject matter taught is highly variable. Younger grades are great, higher grades lacking. We are moving our child to a different private school to ensure she is taught the basics as this school is heavy on performances, open houses, programs etc... but lacking in academics. If you care that you child have a somewhat classical education, look elsewhere. Lower tuition cannot make up for lack of learning that other places are offering.

So much can happen when you have stellar teachers, great curriculum, a nurturing environment and small class sizes. Wesley Prep has built an environment that is unmatched by any other school in Dallas. My children consider WP a home away from home. I challenge anyone to visit other private schools in Dallas and then come to Wesley Prep. It's unfortunate that the recent reviewer had a negative experience - If one is taking these views into consideration, I would strongly suggest a tour of the school. There are certainly no props and the smiles on students faces will speak for themselves. You too will see what I have experienced first hand..

We are about to complete our 7th year at Wesley Prep and have been extremely pleased with the school. Our children entered the program in Preschool and have continued on through elementary. We have considered other schools but have not found any that offer a comparable value from a cost benefit standpoint. The academic, social and moral foundation that this school provides is unparalleled in North Dallas. Most importantly, our kids love this school! They mourn the end of each school year and always look forward to returning after every break.

Wesley Prep prides themselves on creating a learning environment that focuses on teaching kids confidence and a love for the learning process, and it really shows in my 8 year old daughter. After a misguided year in DISD, we came back and have never been happier. She loves the school, she loves the teachers, and the her confidence and scholastic abilities increase each and every day.

Wesley Prep has been such a nurturing, caring environment for my children for the past five years. The teachers are amazing, and the staff knows every child in the school. We plan on staying until 6th grade!

Wesley Prep is an exceptional school. The Mother's Day Out and Pre-School programs are fabulous. The Kindergarten and Elementary programs are very solid. You can count on small classroom size, excellent, passionate teachers and exposure to art, music, Spanish, computer, library and even a Science Lab for Elementary. The school mission and culture are dedicated to inspiring a life long love of learning within the child and preparing him for his next stage of life whatever that may be. The staff takes their jobs seriously, but they know learning can and should be fun. There is a whole child approach here - academics are key, but emotional, physical and spiritual growth are also valued and you can tell. These kids are well-rounded, self-confident, and willing to take risks. I have had children in each level and have been very pleased.
