I get the feeling that the administration does not care about the students. Child safety seems like it's not a concern of theirs as long as the school looks good, and if it makes them look bad, then they might try to fix it. I thought charter schools were supposed to be a better option than regular public schools, but I think this one may be an exception.

The problem with Pinnacle is the leadership at the district level. I find it hard to believe that our leadership truly cares about the education of children when he is so unwilling to invest in the school, he is very anti PTO, and is full of himself. He comes across like he cares but he only cares about the monetary bottom line. I have just pulled the last of my 2 children out, and am sad about it, the staff is outstanding, but as long as they continue under the district leadership in place now Pinnacle will never be a school that is worth anything.

I seriously wonder about the value of these websites when I see responses like this. Yes, if you are lucky your child will get one of the teachers at this school who is adequately trained and actually cares about your child. Unfortunately, there are people working at this school who don't have the credentials to adequately function as lunch monitors let alone be entrusted with a full year of academic guidance. Having had 2 children attend this school over a 3 year period I can say one was lucky enough to have quality teachers all three years while the other only experienced the same luck one year. The consistent quality of fine arts delivered by the ballet program does hold true regardless of the classroom teacher. While I do not want to give the wonderful teachers who earnestly work to nurture and educate their students using best practice methodology an unfair label, receiving a quality educational experience is up to he luck of the draw rather than the rule of accepted practice. This fact may be missed by those who are not familiar with sound educational practice.

I don't quite understand the parents comment qouted "ive yet to know anything other than they are keeping me from being involved in my childs education Submitted by a parent" Pinnacle uses SNAPgrades which sends you email updates listing their assignments, grades, absences, report cards, and missing assignments.. I have never had any obstruction to talking to my son's teachers or the principal.. This is a small school with personal attention.. our experience here has been awesome!! I would reccomend this school to everyone except that would make it not so small :)

Needs more structure and communication. I really don't like the fact that I have to go clean my child's desk out just to get work that is not completed. Not sure if more time needs to be given for work to be completed in class or what. If the child is not concentrating the teacher needs to re-direct. Hoping some things will change with the new leadership that has been put in place, but the teachers really do care for the kids and I love that. These are all things that can be worked through and all in all this is a great school.

I am a student. I have gone to Pinnacle since 1st grade. Honestly I have up and down feelings about this school put truthfully I can't see myself leaving this school.I think anyone would love to go here and i am excited to see more people join the Family.

This is a fantastic school. The teachers really go the extra mile to help your student achieve. The small school enviroment and student to teacher ratio is awesome. My child has flourished at this school. I can't say enough good things about it and I am so glad it is here.

My kids have gone here for three years. This school for me is a real toss of the dice. The teachers are great, other than last years science teacher (no longer a science teacher). My biggest problem with this school is that I get either no notices of upcoming events or they don't come until the day before. I also think they need to have more challenging programs for the more advanced students.

I am a parent who has been with Pinnacle since it started in 2000. My 2 daughters went there and now my son. I feel very blessed to have such a friendly and caring school. I know my child is in a very safe enviroment. The 8th grade just got back their TAKS scores in reading and had a 100% passing average. Their math was at 94%. These teachers and staff are the real deal. The Fine Art classes are superb! If you are looking for a safe place and a place where your child can excel, this is the place for them.

My daughter started Pinnacle in Kindergarten she is now in 2nd grade and I have a son in kindergarten. The school has greatly improved since Mrs. Manning has become principal. Parents and teachers are very involved and close which make for a great learning enviornment. The small fees are nothing to pay compared to what my family has gained from Pinnacle. If you have a choice where to send your children, why not send them to a place your whole family will love? I am on the PTO board so I know how much time and effort goes into ensuring that every child receives the best education possible.

This is my review of my daughters first day and can i say.Wow!!!! My child has had the worst expierience with public schools. Today was her first day at Pinnacle and i can firmly say we have finnally found a home. She actually had a smile on her face after leaving school for the first time ever. She said 'the teachers were friendly and helpfull, and she cant wait to go back tomorrow'! That reaction is worth the commute to us. We are so hopefull about our future with Pinnacle. Musical Mom

Pinnacle is the wonderful! My daughter was in a 'high rated' distice before, the staff cared but there was not enough parent accountability and the student teacher ratio was just too high to help her become the student I knew she was. I too like some other parents at Pinnacle have a long commute and I choose to pay for afternoon transportation, it is worth it. My daughter is in the best environment for her and the teachers are great. Mrs. Manning is truly caring principal. She obliviously loves the students and goes to bat for them and their school. My family believes Pinnacle is great, I am hopeful that within the next three years after my daughter has completed the middle school grades that they are once again able to offer high school.

I have two children that transfered in from a public school. This school is not a good fit for my children. I have chosen a different school for next year. This school's open classrooms make it difficult for my kids to concentrate and listen to their teacher. The school is very loud and dirty. We were disapointed. However, the school may be a good fit for another child. It seems like the kids who can't make it in public school come to this school.

I am a parent of three students at Pinnacle. My children have been with the school since their early years. We have seen changes of administration and teachers, both good and bad. Pinnacle hired a new Principal in the summer of 2008. The school had dropped in attendance, dropped in TAKS scores, and dropped in the consistent nature of discipline during the previous school year. Under new leadership and an influx and return of great teachers, Pinnacle has returned to the level of excellence it used to carry. Enrollment is up. School wide reading scores for 3, 5, and 8th grade are posted at the school stating a 93.7% passing for the first attempt Reading TAKS. Many students are commendable. It is obvious that the educational levels of Pinnacle are exemplary. I would highly recommend this school, it's teachers, support staff and Principal. Very impressive. Go see it for yourself!

I am very satisfied with this school. Every one there, Principal, teachers and staff are really helpful and professional. Yes, they go an extra mile on their jobs. Due to school schedule, day cares did not want to help to watch my son before and after school, and a call from the Principal made possible the daycare. I am grateful for this, and I relax because the education of my son is on good hands. He is back on his track. Fort Worth Public schools are on crisis. I propose to other parents to write a letter to our state Representatives, because this school needs a building. They are doing a great job with less money and non building at all, as every charter school. We need to unite in order to get more support for our charter schools.

We recently enrolled our four children in this school and we are very pleased. The principal and staff are extremely postiive and willing to go the extra mile for their students. They have made our family feel very welcomed and a part of this school. Our children have been homeschooled and they are adjusting very nicely to the entire envoronment and the teachers are working with them to make sure they on scedule with the rest of the class.

My daughter started attending this school in September 08. We love the fact that she is learning more at a 'free' school, than she did at the private school she attended before. The teachers appear to care about their jobs. The only two things that bother me at this point are; the building is so small, and seems crowded, especially when they had holiday shows. The other thing is that although pick-up time appears chaotic, it runs smoothly; however, often when the temp outside is freezing, the kids are still lined up against the wall waiting to be picked up! I wonder if they have a temp guideline when they decide whether pickup is outside or inside. The temp was 38 when I picked my child outside!

About the tests


In 2012-2013, the State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness (STAAR) was used to test students in reading and math in grades 3 through 8; in writing in grades 4 and 7; in science in grades 5 and 8; in social studies in grade 8; and end-of-course assessments for English I, II, and II, Algebra I and II, biology and US History. STAAR is a standards-based test, which means it measures how well students are mastering specific skills defined for each grade by the state of Texas. The goal is for all students to score at or above the state standard.

The different student groups are identified by the Texas Education Agency; if there are a small number of students in a particular group, the state doesn't report data for that group.
