my daughter loves her school she has learned and still learning and also teaches her friends what she has learned in this school i have a set of twins comin to this schoo in september they excited. keep up the good work halsey.
Im a student at this school ( currently an 8th grader) The teachers d almost nothing to control the students. Once they leave the class room its all on the Security Guards.(which are a little too light on the students. Their job is not to befriend them but to make sure they know your position.) there are my old 7th grade teachers who are amazing such as Ms.Kelsy , Mr.Chance,Ms.S(i cant spell her name) and so on.
I have worked in this school for nine years and it is indeed a family. Teachers haave high expectations for their studentsf and trust me they will hold you accountable. So you better do the right thing. They do not have time to waste. The message is clear if you want to be there they will help you and if you don't want to be there transfer out while you can. It is a great school. Ms. Barreto, Principal will say to you, 'This is Ms. Barreto make it a great day or not the choice is yours.' This statement places the responsibility on you. Yes, we can!!!
Not enough is done to control classroom behavior. Metal detectors are used randomly. My child only brings class notes once in a while.
The administration does not communicate with each. If a problem arises they try to cover it up. Academically they are trying to do better and teachers are pushing students to work harder. The school still has a long way to go.
this school is ok, but if you come to it, you have to know who you are, where you wnt to go in your life, and dont let the environment corupt you, and try do your work and get the good teachers like ms rosegreen, ms mccollough, mr oddonell ms orekoya ms kaye and so much more, but stay focused and know your life before someone comes to mess it up.
This school is very good and anyone who is coming there hold your head up high.Teachers are good, fun, and exciting like Ms.Campbell,Ms.Doughy,Ms.Bruce,Mr.Vaungh and etc.
The school is attempting to make a resurgance, however it has a long way to go. 296 is broken into mini academies, and provides after-school tutorials for students at risk.
