They have helped me achieve what I couldn't do on my own and made me grow up ALOT. I know so much more in every subject than I ever hve. Great environment. There is no struggle unless you make it a struggle. If you do what you are suppoed to do, you will have no problems. The person who wrote that the princpal doesn't care is just a liar. Probably did domething stupid and got in trouble for it. For good kids, this is a great school. I love this school. I wouldn't ever graduate if I didn't go here.

I this school because the teachers take time to get involved and have great communication with parents. Their first focus are the students and parent communication. The staff makes it a point to get me involved, answers all my questions and make it a priority to get me involved which I appreciate. Small classes and I like the environmet. Its a bright and lively place.

I love Jane Adams because they are really helpful and they really care about us. They do their best to make sure we get our work done no matter what. The staff there are also pretty funny and they will joke around with us if we are having a bad day to help cheer us up.

I recommend Jane Addams because the staff takes their time to figure out what you need and work with you from there. Assignments help prepare you for college work. My writing teacher taught me to write better. Actually all my teachers have helped me in all my subjects. I look forward to school everyday because I look forward to talking to the staff about things going on in my life.

I am going to graduate in June. I have been at this school for 2 years. The staff are very helpful with influencing your mind to learn. They relate the classwork to my life. I went to 3 CPS schools before coming to this school.None of them worked out for me. So I tried this school because it was not a CPS school. This school is different because they tell you what you need to do and how to do it. When I first came here I just knew this was the school for me. It taught me how to control mysef in negative situaions. I'm a better person since the first day I started attending this school.

Thank God for this school. They have helped my son more than I could have even believed. Mr. Fox has helped me understand my son and his school needs. This is the first time I can ever remember my son coming home from school and talking about what he learned. God Bless this school and all the people who work there.

I know this sounds wierd but I like jane adams because it is strict and I have learned to come to school "on time". Coming from a school that didn't care about my education, my math skills have gone up so much now and I know so much more math than I did before. Staff are not there for just a job. You can tell that they really care about us. Before I came here I didn't think I could learn, but now I know I can. Anyone that says anything bad about this school is probably a trouble maker that doesn't know how to act in school and got in trouble.

I went to 4 other schools before going to Jane Addams. I never spoke to any of my principals or assistant principals before I came to this school but I do here. Everyone who works there is great and they help me so much. My teachers are great. After I graduate I want to go to college and come back to work at this school so I can help other students like they have helped me.

All the reviews were written by staff. Comparini only cares about her self. She doesn't care about students

I like this school because my son has improved so much since attending here. When he was in CPS his reading scores were very low and still being passed in his classes. Since starting at JAHS his reading scores have gone up 5 grade levels in just 1.5 years attendance.

I started this school last year and I had pretty bad attendance. I don't think I was really motivated and I didn't know anyone which made me uncomfortable. But this year is better because I really like the teachers now and I feel like I learn a lot more. The teachers make me feel like they really care about me, not just their jobs.

I graduated about a year ago from Jane Addams High School. I am now in the U.S. Army which is something I always wanted to do and this school helped me accomplish my dream. I think its a great school because it gives students a second chance and the teachers care more than any other teachers that I have had in the past. Jane Addams helped me turn my life around. The principal is pretty cool too. ~Scouts Out!

This is my first year at this school and it has helped me a lot when I was facing many hardships. The teachers teach in many different ways which has opened my eyes to many new things. I have experienced and learned about many things I never knew about. I feel very close to my teachers and I really trust them.

Jane Addams has helped me so much over the past 3 years. They have helped me prepare for my future. I like it so much better than my old school in Cicero. The staff shows us compassion and the class sizes are small. They help everyone learn, but what I like the most is that Ms. Marquette and Ms. Comparini gave me another chance.

I love JAHS because the classes are small which makes it easier to learn. The teachers bond with the students. I love the teachers and the staff, they make learning fun. I have been exposed to many opportunities and made great friends.

By son is going to graduate from Jane Adams High School this year. I am so glad to have my son out of CPS and to have found this school. Everyone there does a great job of teaching the kids to be responsible. I have a 13 year old and as soon as sheis old enough I will pull her from CPS and be sending her to Jane Adams. From the principal to the tutors, everyone is awesome! HIGHLY recommend this school!!!

The parent review right below this one is spot on!! The admin are highly unprofessional and treat their employes, teachers, and students with NO RESPECT. Their turnover for this last school year is more than 50% of their teaching staff...which is super high for a small school. No open door policy for the principal and you can forget about admin following the mission of critical thinking, personal responsibility, and self-sufficiency. Great teachers are running from this school and you should be aware of this when entering your child in this school.

Jane Addams is a great school with excellent teachers and staff. I used to take the Halsted bus and pass UIC everyday on my way to Jane Addams HS. I did not graduate from Jane Addams; however, I did attain a GED -- ONLY because I was too far behind and did not want to waste anymore time. I had nearly no credits -- BUT that is just ME. YOU can graduate from here, and should do so. They did allow me to take the Constitution test with the other students -- which saved me considerable time when taking the GED. After earning a GED, graduating from Wilbur Wright Community College with an A.A degree w/honors -- I now go to UIC and am 4 semesters shy of my Bachelor of Science in Accounting degree. I also plan to go to law school and practice law -- of course -- in Chicago. Jane Addams is a fantastic high school with caring people who work there. I recommend this school to anyone who is sincere about having a positive future and doing what is necessary to further their education (studying, doing homework, working hard, etc). The people who work at Jane Addams give their all and truly care for the students. It is a great high school, and my only regret is not graduating from there.

About these ratings

The Community Rating is the school’s average rating from its community members (e.g., parents, students, and school staff). The highest possible rating is five stars; the lowest is one star.

We currently do not have any test score information for this school. Unlike public schools, private schools are not always required to report data about their schools or not required to take the same tests as public schools. Many private schools take different standardized tests; however, that information is often made available only to families of enrolled students. We strive to acquire additional private school data whenever available.
